Let the wind give your grief lift in this powerful and soulful gathering around love and loss!

Using shamanic teachings and a creative perspective on the cycles of grief, this gathering was born to guide people into their grief in a safe, creative and playful way. Grief can be a profoundly difficult emotion to connect to and those hard to access feelings, when left unmetabolized, can manifest in depression, anxiety and other kinds of stuckness and soul sickness.

This gathering is for people who are looking for a creative way to process their emotions and who want to consciously connect to the people we have lost in our lives (or former versions of themselves) in a healthy, childlike manner to bring joy and healing. Each direction of the pinwheel asks us to excavate, reflect, feel and express our grief of a loved one, a time (anything you need to grieve!) with guided prompts, time for sharing, ample space for processing and a compassionate and curious container of other open hearts. Coming together as a group we will connect in solidarity, remember softly, craft with abandon and connect to our cardinal elements on each spoke of our pinwheel to ground the journey and process.

Participants will leave with a sacred and symbolic pinwheel - made of biodegradable materials - that can be placed in a garden or sacred space to dance on the breeze until it is reclaimed by the elements.

Limited to 8 people

Suggested donation is $44/person but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds

About Your Guide Emily

Emily Arbetter is from Salem Massachusetts. Working through cycles grief in our lives can be overwhelming and intimidating to take on alone. My work is to help bring people together in these hard times after losing people that we love. Using cardinal element correspondences of shamanic elemental beliefs, you will be prompted to write for each spoke of the pinwheel relating to different cycles of life as a healthy and creative way to help heal from some of the hurt of our losses. Iā€™m hoping to have everyone be able to create a biodegradable pinwheel, to help remind us of all the cycles of life we have loved this person and will continue to connect to them throughout our lives. With the help of Beana and Rootstock Retreat, the creation of this pinwheel in a meditative, safe, and purely energetic and moving way will hope to help those going through grief, help heal and connect back to their loved ones.
